I was in Chicago for work and decided to check out Chicago Q.
 
Chef Art Smith is the pit master at Chicago Q.  The restaurant had great outdoor seating for the unseasonably warm Chicago afternoon.  For lunch i went with the pulled pork, and spare ribs platter that came with cornbread, mashed potatoes, and fresh BBQ potato chips.

After the Laurel Hill Cemetery 5k, the group needed dinner.  Fette Sau came to mind as the choice for fun and copious amounts of bbq and meat.  It is also conveniently located next to Frankford Hall for post dinner libations.

For anyone in the mood for bbq meats by the pound, a generous whisky selection along with beers and cocktails, Fette Sau in Northern Liberties is a must.  A Starr restaurant that is in partnership with the group that established the original Fette Sau in Williamsburg Brooklyn NY, fette sau offers a fun ambiance and bbq orders by the pound.  The side dishes are also quite delicious.  I would not recommend Fette Sau for vegetarians.  All meats and sides are recommended but I have a particular fondness for the fatty beef brisket, the pork belly, and the beef short rib.
