With the weather warming up in Philadelphia, venues for happy hour that have outdoor seating are in high demand.  Unfortunately, they can get quite crowded.  One place that I sometimes forget about is Continental.  They have a nice selection of happy hour drinks and snacks with a very reasonable price point during happy hour featuring discounted cocktails and plates.

The Continental is another Steven Starr Restaurant in Philadelphia, that's known for its cocktails and rooftop bar, Continental also has a decent food menu.  With a larger party, many dishes were ordered and I was surprised but the quality of the dishes and the price points.  Worth going to with a larger group to share items family style.  Fits the bill for cocktails/drinks with dinner perfectly.

El Rey (Philadelphia, PA)

After SIPs at Perch Pub I stopped by El Rey for a little dinner with two of my friends.  Guac with chips were ordered along with some of the enchiladas.  Specifically the Beef Short Rib and the Chicken Enchiladas.  They were quite yummy.  I havne't been to El Rey in a few years and its just as I remembered it.  Its a Steven Starr Restaurant but this one purposefully has a more old school less flashy vibe.  The bartenders and waitresses were quite friendly and chatty.  They let us grab a few drinks at the bar while we waited and timed it perfectly when our table was ready.  Nothing like ending the night with some decent food after a SIPs Wednesday.  If you're in the Center City area/ Rittenhouse area, stop by for some low key mexican.
