In February I checked out David Chang's Momofuku Ssam Bar in New York for brunch with a few friends.  This was one of the occasions where having adventurous friends was a blessing.  We ended up telling the waitress what not to bring us from the brunch menu.  Ssam bar lives up to its fame and is a must try for brunch.

With a few friends in town, it was a good opportunity to check out Kevin Sbraga's (of Top Chef fame) second Philadelphia location: The Fat Ham.

The venue has a more casual vibe and feel than his flagship name sake restaurant.  The menu is very pork focused and takes significant inspiration from southern cooking and cuisine.

Tonkotsu East is located in Hackney London and serves up ramen, sake, and standard ramen house food.  I ordered the restaurant namesake tonkotsu with extra pork belly and an extra half egg. For appetizers edamame and shittake & bamboo gyoza were sampled.  The meal was rounded out with warm sake.
