Federal Donuts always offers a wide selection of interesting and delicious donuts.  We had heard that they were staying open for students suffering through finals and stopped by the University City location to discover to our dismay that they were already closed and the online posting we had read was incorrect.

Heart-broken, we lucked out as the employee closing up the shop opened the door and surprised us with various donuts.  Cheers to Federal Donuts and their generosity.

Independence Beer Garden is a large spacious area in Independence Mall (near the Liberty Bell) that uses all the space around the Rohm & Hass Building. There's bar seating, Adirondack chairs, green space and even air-conditioned re-purposed shipping containers to hang out in during the warmer summer months.  Be warned, if its windy or chilly it can be difficult to stay warm if you're not dressed appropriately.

There certainly have been a plethora of outdoor pop up style beer gardens in Philadelphia over the past few years and this is definitely one of the good ones to check out.

I finally made it to Han Dynasty after having it on my list of places to try in Philadelphia.  We ate at the newly updated first Old City location which is now across the street.  After lunch we hit up Kyber Pass for dessert and Bloody Marys.  The dan dan noodles at Han Dynasty come highly recommended, although those without a high spice tolerance would be wise to tone down the spiciness.

To wrap up our quiet evening, a trip to The Industry Bar in Pennsport was proposed.  Having never been, I was game.  We stopped in for beers, dessert, and coffee.  The venue is quaint, quiet, well decorated and quite fun.

The two desserts we sampled were well executed and the bottomless coffee was perfect for the evening's conclusion.

Peanut Butter Bomb - Banana pound cake topped with peanut buttermousse, chocolate shavings & bacon dust

Doughnuts - Dusted with sugar, served with seasonal marmalade

Seasons 52 (King of Prussia, PA)

Seasons 52 At King of Prussia Mall

For a corporate work function I had dinner at Seasons 52 in King of Prussia.  With the caveat of not knowing the pricing and having a private dinner instead of the normal menu, I enjoyed myself.  The dishes were varied and well cooked and the desert was a bit of a highlight.  The wine and alcohol selection is quite extensive so they have that going for them as well.

Dinner consisted of h'orderves, flat bread pizzas, spring mix salad, swordfish with mashed yams, pork tenderloin with couscous,  filet mignon with mashed potatoes, assorted vegetables, a vegetarian platter, all followed up with a wide assortment of desserts in shot like glasses.

Assuming their actual pricing is reasonable, I would recommend this restaurant.
