Hungry for food we walked by Bangkok Thai 9 and decided to have dinner there.  It turned out to be a good impromptu choice.  I would recommend it to anyone in the mood for Thai in the Rittenhouse area.  The waitress was polite and accommodating and the food exceeded expectations. For dinner we ordered curry chicken puffs, extra spicy chicken drunken noodles, sweet chicken basil, and chicken lad-na.  If you're ever in the mood for Thai in the Rittenhouse area, I would recommend stopping into Bangkok Thai 9.

As a non vegetarian, I enjoyed my curry tofu wrap from HipCityVeg.  The veggies were very fresh and the curry was mild.  I would not have minded a little kick.

HipCityVeg always gets rave reviews so I finally had made it over.  I need to try more of their other items to be able to give a proper review but so far it seems to hold up to the hype. A good place in the city for any vegetarian or vegan but definitely accessible and tasty for meat eaters as well.

BALLS with crab (curried)

Initially, I had planned on helping out with my friends' entry into the Brooklyn Food Experiment this past weekend.  My two friends had a dish that was mostly planned out and just required a little of my help with execution.  Unfortunately, due to time constraints and other commitments we did not end up competing.

The original competition required a curry element and the plan involved coconut milk, curry, risoto, tomato, tamarind, an herbal medley salad and CRAB.

The dish was implemented Friday night as I arrived for my other friend's 30th Birthday Extravaganza.  Quite the meal to start my weekend.  Photos below:

Final Dish: Fried coconut curried crab meat risotto balls with a tomato/tamarind chutney and a perilla, basil, lime salad.  Yum.
