Harpers Garden opened in the summer of 2018 and I caught up with a friend from college in Center City Philadelphia after work with rose wine and snacks.

In warmer months there's an outdoor garden for seating.  Note that they do not do happy hour, which can be a blessing during center city sips.

Checked out the raw bar at Oyster House.  We went late Saturday for their buck a shuck special, which also runs during the week at normal happy hour times.  Raw bar is worth checking out in Philadelphia and the cocktails were good as well

Bareburger is yet another option for burgers in the ever growing Philadelphia burger dining scene.  There are a plethora of delicious burgers to choose from and Bareburger is another contender.  The first store opened in NYC and Bareburger has been growing and expanding since then.  They focus on organic meats and have offerings that are sometimes a little harder to come by such as: elk, bison, goat, turkey, wild boar, along with vegetarian options.  This does raise the price point a bit, but I imagine this is not unexpected for those interested in trying Bareburger out.  Like most of the burger places, they offer milkshakes, soda, and alcoholic beverages. 

As I'm personally on a quest to make the Bloody Mary an any time beverage, I had one with my burger.  For Bloody Mary fans, the Bareburger version comes with pickles.  Lastly, I also would recommend sampling their various in-house made sauces as they were quite delicious with the onion rings, sweet potato and standard fries.

I stopped in the Center City/Rittenhouse Tampopo for carry out for the first time.  A small place, the menu is focused on Korean and Japanese cuisine.  There is some seating for those looking to dine in but on this occasion I ordered to go.

Quickly scanning the menu we settled on two Korean Bibimbobs, the beef and egg along with the fresh tuna.

For anyone looking for an easy bite to eat, I would recommend Tampopo.  I will definitely be back to try other items on their menu.

To kick off Restaurant week, I visited Meritage.  Meritage is one of my Philadelphia Restaurant staples and it didn't disappoint.  I would recommend Meritage anytime for a meal in the Rittenhouse area.
