Sutton's Parlor (Rittenhouse Square Philadelphia, PA)

Sutton's Parlor (Rittenhouse Square Philadelphia, PA)
40 South 19th Street (between Market and Chestnut Streets)
Philadelphia, PA 19103

Sutton's Parlor opened its doors the Wednesday before Thanksgiving.  I finally made it out to Sutton's Parlor for cocktails to see what the fuss was about.  Spun off from the owners of Farmer's Cabinet, Sutton's Parlor offers a cocktail bar on the first floor and allegedly a beer bar upstairs.  The beer bar wasn't accessible during my visit.

Manager Adam stated that his goal was to open the doors as soon as possible and slowly workout any kinks with an anticipated official opening by the New Year.  Sutton's Parlor is open every day from 5pm to 2am.  Similar to Farmer's Cabinet there is live music to compliment the cocktail and drink selection.  As the place is currently a work in progress, Sutton's Parlor is offering a limited cocktail and beer menu.

I recommend talking with the bartenders to see if you can perhaps order something off menu or an off menu favorite from the mixologists.  Luciano has a superb cocktail that involves fresh orange juice and caramelized sugar.

All in all, Sutton's Parlor is a nice addition to the growing number of cocktail oriented establishments in Center City.

The Kitchen start making appetizers on Friday but we didn't stay there long enough to try it out.  As Sutton's Parlor find its legs, I would assume that the kitchen will be up and running soon enough.   Definitely worth checking out.  One caveat, the credit card machines weren't working during our visit so it became a cash only venue.  Not sure when the credit will be accepted but something to consider.  Cheers!
