The Double Windsor (Park Slope/Brooklyn)

The Double Windsor is a gastropub in Park Slope, Brooklyn that I stopped by this weekend as I explored Brooklyn and the Park Slope area.

After drinking copious amounts of beer/sangria/mixed drinks and celebrating birthday festivities with friends and cake, we stopped at the Double Windsor for some sustainence before continuing the birthday weekend. The Double Windsor was suggested for its food, beer selection and probable availbility of a table.  My friends were indeed correct.

The table split an order of mussels with french fries along with a pulled pork sandwich and a blt sandiwch.  The mussles were cooked in a white wine sauce with onions and tomatos and were quite delicious.  The french fries were properly cooked and about what you'd expect from fries, though they were a bit over salted, but I digress.

I am told that the pulled pork was correctly done but cannot speak much of it as I didn't sample it.  I did sample a portion of the BLT.  The bacon was very smokey and that was a nicety that rounded out the BLT very well.

Draft beer selection was quite excellent and the Double Windsor admirably fits the bill as a gastropub.  I would defintiely stop by for food or drinks anytime.

It is worth noting that food is ordered at a back window of the gastropub and there is no wait service.  Beers/drinks are ordered directly from the bar.  Lastly, its worth pointing out that even though food is orderd from the back window the wait staff was very good at clearing our plates and tables through our meals.
