Square Peg $2 and $3 Bites Happy Hour Menu

Square Peg has stepped up their happy hour game with a two and three dollar bites menu.
For happy hour select cocktails are 5 dollars, select beers are 3 and house wine is 4.

Items sampled included: wings, mac and cheese with lamb, meatloaf, donuts with coffee injection, hummus, chicken kim chi tacos.  The food was quite delicious and a very good value.  Happy hour menu is only available at the bar.

Square Peg has decent specials for Happy Hour.  Unfortunately, you can only get the happy hour specials at the bar, not at a table which we learned after we were seated.  Just something to keep in mind.

Some of their cocktails and drinks are $5 during happy hour and they have a special happy hour bites menu.  You can also order from the regular menu as well.

Their tater tots are decent but I especially enjoyed my very unhealthy Texas Tommie which is a Happy Hour special.  They also have a $12 dollar spirits flight where you get to choose 3 spirits.  Having never had "White Whiskey" and seeing that they offered exactly three of them.  White Whiskey Flights were ordered.  Try it sometime if you dare.

My favorite cocktail that they currently offer is the Almost Sunny in Philadelphia.

I visited Square Peg on a Saturday night with a large party.  Initially we were a party of 9 but by the time we actually arrived at the restaurant the party was 12.  They still accommodated us with a table and we partook in food and drink.

Overall the cocktails were good and most of the food was decent.  Some of my party said that a few of their dishes were a tad generic but nothing was bad or unpleasant to eat.  My onion rings were under seasoned in my opinion but thats my only critique.

The patte was pretty good and the grilled cheese with mac and cheese with tomato soup was popular among my dining party.  It was well received.  Lastly the tater tots were enjoyed by my friends as well and had favorable reviews.

Both egg white cocktails were very good.  I recommend the Almost Sunny in Philadelphia.

My second stop of Center City Sips resulting in a visitation to Square Peg.  This place had been mentioned a few times so I finally agreed to go there after our initial stop at Opa.  The main perk of Square Peg is that their sips special continues until 8pm instead of 7pm.  One can't really complain about 3 dollar beers until 8pm especially when the sips special beers are a) Philadelphia Brewing Company's Philly Pale Ale and b) Troegs Sunshine Pilsner.  It was a solid second sips stop.

I had heard good things about the food there so we sampled their sips appetizers.
a) Mahi Mahi Taco
b) Pulled Pork Slider
c) Chicken Enchilada.

The Mahi Mahi was delicious but for 5 dollars the portion size left a little to be desired.  That was the unanimous feeling across the board.

The Pulled Pork Slider was the better deal at 4 dollars.  The pork was strongly seasoned and flavorful.  It hit the spot nicely.

Lastly, there was the chicken enchilada.  A review from one of my possibly slightly inebriated sips companion suggested: ".. It's ok.  It's kinda like a hot pocket.  The guacamole is good though."  With that raving review, I was glad i passed on the most expensive item on the sips appetizer list at six dollars.

If you need a second stop for sips I still would strongly recommend Square Peg as it was not crowded and they have an additional hour of specials.  Seating is adequate and good for a large group.
