 I took an old friend who was visiting Philadelphia from out of town to Cafe Lift for breakfast.  At this point, any readers of this blog should know that Cafe Lift offers one of the best breakfast/brunch options in Center City.  A review isn't really needed as the photos should be more than enough.  We settled on crab bisque, Eggs Benedict, and the Pumpkin French Toast which was one of the specials of the day.

I went to Cafe Lift after the Philadelphia 8K run.  Having been awake since 5am on a Saturday, our appetites and stomachs were a bit confused with brunch at 9am as opposed to 1pm.  The three of us eventually settled on the baked egg with beef this time, eggs Benedict, and an egg sandwich.  Lift continues to shine as a brunch spot in Philadelphia.  It never fails to satisfy but it is worth remembering that Lift is cash only.

Java Joe's is a local breakfast/brunch place that I have frequented with high school friends for years.  Located in Woodlyn, PA its a cozy diner that offers the standard breakfast fair and bottomless cups of coffee.  Perfect for catching up especially when everyone is in town.
