Tria Taproom is the latest Tria offering in Philadelphia.

This Tria location features draft beer, wine, cider, and soda.  Everything is on draft and availability of beverages is offered via a slightly gimicky iPad for each party.

The menu at this Tria is also a little different and more focused on wood fire grilled flat breads, bar snacks/appetizers and cheeses.  The menu is available at: https://www.triacafe.com/taproom/food.php

The ambiance is pleasant and its nice to be able to grab wine at Tria without a long wait.

For the early St. Patty's Day festivities we stopped by St. Stephens Green in Fairmount for beers and a little food.  As such, I wasn't really able to get a proper sense of how the food is for a proper meal but the food did hit the spot for a quick bite to eat.

Pan Fried Fish with Garlic and Soy Sauce 2014-03-14

Contrary to the posts on my blog, I am capable of cooking.

Pan fried fish with garlic and soy sauce.  Lightly salt fish.  Oil in pan with garlic to get flavor.  Pan fry fish with a little soy sauce on low heat.  Enjoy with rice and veggies.

For my last dinner in London on my trip, we decided to have dinner at Brawn in Shoreditch.  Having been introduced to orange wine in Copenhagen and realizing it was something that's pretty hard to find or come by in the United States, we ordered a bottle of oaky orange and paired it with charcuterie, foie gras, and rabbit.

The food was delicious and decadent, a nice way to close out my vacation.

My lovely and gracious host in London was in the mood for fried chicken after work and suggested checking out Clutch for a late dinner.  Clutch is a relatively new comer to the Hoxton London area focusing on free range chicken fried in groundnut oil.

We settled on the spicy wings, soy glazed chicken bucket (~ 3 pieces of fried chicken: wing, thigh, breast), a basil cocktail each, a beet and mozzarella appetizer, side of french fries, and a red bell pepper dipping sauce.

The spicy chicken wings were hands down my favorite item.  They were delicious, crispy, and on the spicier side, just the way I like my wings.  The soy glazed chicken was also very crispy due to the groundnut oil and was more than adequately sauced in salty sweet soy glaze.

If I lived in London near Clutch, I would be there anytime I had a chicken craving.  They offer various other versions of the chicken that we sampled and I would be very curious to try the other variations. The cocktail was definitely a nice compliment to the flavorful fried chicken.

Lastly, the bill came in a wooden egg and was a humorous play on the the chicken and the egg.  I approve.
