La Locanda Del Ghiottone is a small, intimate, Italian restaurant located in Old City that is also a BYOB.  We had a large party for celebrating and they were very accommodating.  The waiter brought energy and flair to the occasion.

Route 6 Lobster Month (Fairmount Philadelphia, PA)

Route 6
600 N. Broad Street
Philadelphia, PA 19130
Phone: 215-391-4600
Web: route6restaurant.com

Route 6 is offering half price lobster entrees for the entire month of October.  If you enjoy lobster, I would recommend heading over to Route 6.  While you may not need to consume a 3lb lobster, you have the option of doing so for a mere 32 dollars.  Definitely a good deal.

The pictures should do the deal justice below from a Sunday visit for dinner.  Keep in mind that with the popularity of this deal, reservations will help and even then you might not get seated at the time of the reservation due to lingering diners from previous parties.  With those tempered expectations along with a half price feast, I still recommend swinging by for Lobster Month.

Dim Sum Garden has opened its second location near Joy Tsin Lau and Hop Sing Laundromat in Chinatown.  This expansion into a second space is quite a nice development.  The upgraded ambiance finally matches the quality of the food.

After the Laurel Hill Cemetery 5k, the group needed dinner.  Fette Sau came to mind as the choice for fun and copious amounts of bbq and meat.  It is also conveniently located next to Frankford Hall for post dinner libations.
